This fun and functional online Spanish 1 course is perfect if:

Homeschool Spanish 1 Online meets the ACTFL (American Council for Teaching Foreign Languages) standards of a Spanish 1 course. The expectation is that students will be actively engaged in learning Spanish for a total of 125-150 hours per year to earn a high school foreign language credit and to reach a novice-mid or higher level of proficiency.


We will meet once a week on Zoom for live, interactive lessons. Students will have about 3.5 hours of self-paced, asynchronous assignments to complete the rest of the week. I am available via email for questions, clarifications, and support.

Live Zoom classes meet every Wednesday from 10:30 - 11:30 AM Eastern Standard Time. Our live lessons will give students a chance to interact with one another, have spontaneous, authenticconversations, and receive instant feedback from me.


Asynchronous lessons and assignments are purposeful, creative, and interactive giving students the opportunity to practice listening, reading, writing and speaking, and extending their cultural knowledge.

Hi! I'm Ana Lohrmann. This will be my 17th year as a teacher. I have a Bachelor’s in Education and several Master’s level credits in teaching foreign languages. I am fascinated by second language acquisition and stay up-to-date on the latest neuroscience, psychology, and pedagogical research on the most effective ways to teach and learn foreign languages.
