Topics in Spanish 1 Group Tutoring
OVERVIEW
These group tutoring sessions help your child master important grammar and necessary skills covered in high School Spanish 1 courses. This is not a high school Spanish 1 course, but rather group tutoring sessions to help students who could use the additional exposure, clarifications, and practice with these Spanish 1 concepts.
During these sessions, we will:
- review the trickiest grammar concepts
- work on pronunciation and fluency
- work on comprehension and proficiency through reading, writing, listening and speaking
- have authentic get-to-know-you conversations in Spanish
- answer any questions students have about their main Spanish course, including homework and project help (as long as it's relevant to everyone in the group)
Live, online group tutoring sessions will meet once per week for 50 minutes on Zoom.
SESSION SCHEDULE
We will meet live on Zoom on Tuesdays from 6:00 to 6:50 PM EST beginning January 11th. Sessions are ongoing.

1 session 1 50-minute group tutoring session $25 per session

MISSING A CLASS
If your child misses a live online session, they will have access to the recording of the session (when available). There will be no refunds for missed classes.
CANCELED CLASS OR COURSE
In the event a session needs to be canceled, I'll contact parents via email. You will not use a session credit, and that session will take place the following week at the predetermined time.
MINIMUM NUMBER OF STUDENTS POLICY
If the minimum number of students for a viable session is not met, the session may be canceled and payments refunded.
CANCELING ENROLLMENT AFTER PAYING
If you decide to unenroll your child before any session credits have been used, you will receive a full refund minus $15 for credit card processing fees.
If you decide to unenroll your child after they have attended their first live session but before the second live session, you will receive a refund of the full purchase price minus a $15 credit card processing fee and a $25 service charge per child.
If you decide to unenroll your child after they have attended their second live session, you will not receive a refund and can continue to access the session recordings.
All requests to unenroll must be submitted in writing to anathespanishtutor@gmail.com.
STUDENT REQUIREMENTS
In order to have successful group tutoring sessions, students need all the following:
- Regular access to a full-functionality computer (desktop or laptop) with a working camera, microphone, keyboard, consistent high-speed WiFi, and the necessary memory and speed to allow for streaming video calls while simultaneously accessing collaborative online workspaces. (Mobile devices and Chromebooks do not currently offer the full functionality required to get the most out of these sessions. In the same manner, computers with lower processing speeds or with access to slower WiFi, will likely contribute to a frustrating experience.)
- Each enrolled child should have access to their own computer, in a quiet, distraction-free area, during live sessions. This way, they can each participate individually in games and activities. If children need to share a device, they will need to work together to submit one response during games and class activities.
- Access to Zoom
- Students who are not comfortable and proficient with using technology should have a tech-savvy adult available during all live sessions.
- Please be aware that these sessions are very interactive. Students will be asked to speak in front of their peers, work in breakout rooms with their peers, and participate in collaborative activities. Every effort is made to establish a safe, encouraging, and nurturing environment where taking risks is prized and keeping anxiety low is a priority. If you feel your children might need some extra TLC, please let me know in the comments below.
- I will make every effort to work with your differently-abled children. However, the ability to see, hear, read and write in English, read and respond appropriately to social cues, participate actively with video and microphone on are requirements of joining these group tutoring sessions. If you have questions or concerns about how your children might fit into this course, please email me at anathespanishtutor@gmail.com. I reserve the right to remove any student who is disruptive to the supportive learning environment I strive to provide. This includes any kind of bullying, lack of respect, or inability to control one's actions that might hinder the wellbeing and learning opportunities of others. If a student is removed from a live session, they will continue to receive access to the live session recordings. No refunds will be given for students removed from sessions due to disruptive behavior.
PROGRESS REPORTS
If you are interested in chatting with me about your child's progress during the group tutoring sessions, please email me at anathespanishtutor@gmail.com with your request.
