Spanish Courses Classes Tutor Offerings (4).png

If you're worried about your child's grades in Spanish class or your child is feeling frustrated, lost, or incompetent, Topics in Spanish 1 group tutoring sessions can help!

These group tutoring sessions not only help your child understand, practice, and process the trickiest concepts taught in high school Spanish 1 courses, but they also give your child the nurturing space to ask questions, get homework & project help, and clear the roadblocks to mastery, so your child can improve their grades, their confidence, and their language proficiency skills.

These tailored-to-the-group tutoring sessions provide the live, targeted instruction your child needs to push past their obstacles and insecurities. Your child will learn from the best - an experienced, credentialed high school Spanish teacher and tutor, who provides a nurturing, enthusiastic space and uses research-backed best language teaching methods to ensure your child experiences success.

What exactly is Topics in Spanish 1 Group Tutoring?

Topics in Spanish 1 Group Tutoring sessions are live on Zoom meetings with me and a small group of students currently in a Spanish 1 or 2 (or 3) course, who need to master Spanish 1 concepts and proficiency skills in order to be successful in their current Spanish class.  This is not a high school Spanish 1 course, but rather group tutoring sessions to help students who could use the additional exposure, clarifications, and practice with topics normally covered in high school Spanish 1 classes. These group tutoring sessions are significantly more affordable than one-on-one sessions and give your child the added benefit of building community and comradery with peers who are struggling just like they are.

During these sessions, we will:

  • review and practice the trickiest grammar concepts
  • work on pronunciation and fluency
  • work on comprehension and proficiency through reading, writing, listening, speaking and storytelling
  • have authentic get-to-know-you conversations in Spanish
  • answer questions students have about their main Spanish course, including homework and project help (as long as it's relevant to everyone in the group)
  • learn test-taking strategies and tips to ace their exams and presentations

Your child will:

  • feel more confident in class
  • improve their grades
  • improve their understanding of difficult concepts
  • improve their pronunciation
  • improve their conversation skills
  • improve their motivation to continue learning Spanish
  • socialize and bond with peers in a similar situation
  • thank you for investing in their success!

Is this group right for my child?

Yes: If your child needs a live guide to help them master foundational Spanish 1 skills in order to succeed in their current Spanish class, this is the perfect group for your child.

Yes but:  If your child needs a tutor to help them with specific step-by-step tasks for their Spanish class, for example - walking your child through every question on a homework assignment or every line of a presentation, your child likely needs one-on-one tutoring in addtion to the foundational support the group tutoring sessions provide. There will be times during each session for students to ask for homework and project help, but the help that will be provided during group tutoring sessions will be in the form of reviewing and reteaching the concepts or skills necessary to complete the assignment, not in completing the whole assignment. We will not be focusing solely on one student's assignment unless it's something that will benefit the whole group. If your child needs more hands-on support to work through assignments, we can schedule one-on-one tutoring sessions as needed in addition to the foundational support the group tutoring sessions provide.

No: Your child would like to learn Spanish but is not currently in a Spanish class. This group is only for students who are struggling in their Spanish classes. If you would like to have your child learn Spanish, please check out my other programs via the program link. If your child doesn't fit into any of my current Spanish class offerings, please contact me to create the type of lessons you're looking for!
